Mothers Day Banquet

Posted on: April 28th, 2012 by Pastor Parish No Comments

Its that time of year again!  Time for our mothers and daughters to have an evening out and enjoy a wonderful time of fellowship as well as a great meal being planned by Roger.  You won’t want to miss this night.

There is a sign-up sheet in the Foyer.  The cost is $10 per person.

If your mother or daughter lives out of town, why not ‘adopt’ a mom for a day?  Contact Patsy or Linda for possible moms or daughters who need to be ‘adopted’.

Father/Son Annual Fishing Trip

Calling All Men!

The Annual Father/Son Fishing trip is scheduled for Thursday May 31st through Saturday June 2nd.  This years’ event will be held just outside of Vicksburg close to Redbone Road.  Roger has found a wonderful lodge and lake for us and we will all have a really great time.

Don’t have a son?  You can always ‘adopt’ one. There are plenty of boys and young men in the Church that would love to go.

Don’t have a dad? You can ‘adopt’ one of those, too!

The cost is $90 per person and there is a sign-up sheet in the foyer at the Church.

Attention mothers and daughters:  everyone is invited to join the event by coming to the Friday evening Fish Fry at 6:30 p.m.

If you need further information, please contact Roger.

God’s Help with Traffic Accident

On Easter Sunday, God’s grace and protection were present in a special way for the Ballard Family.  After visiting with Will’s Scout Master, Jerry and Will were driving home on Clay street at about 4:00 p.m. when they were involved in a serious automobile accident.  While the car was totalled, neither Jerry or Will were seriously injured.

Will was knocked unconscious after hitting the window in the car door and both air bags were activated, resulting in a brusied chest for both he and Jerry.  They were transported to the hospital in an ambulance where they had x-rays and Will had a cat-scan.  The results of the tests were all normal and they were able to walk out of the ER about 2 hours later.

We are praising God for His goodness and hand of protection on their lives!  Thanks to everyone for praying, and especially to those of you who took time from your Easter holiday to come to the hospital and wait with the family.

God is Good … all the time!

Easter Week Services

What a GREAT time of year! We can remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and celebrate His resurrection from death.

This week we will have a special service for Good Friday.  You won’t want to miss it.  Singing, testimonies, and scripture reading – “Following Christ to the cross”.  The service begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday the 6th.

On Easter Sunday, we will begin the day by joining with other Christians from Vicksburg and Warren County for the Community Sunrise Service at the National Military Park.  A shuttle is provided if you will park at the Cairo parking lot.  Get there early for a good seat (bring your lawn chair).  The service begins at 7:00 a.m.

After the Sunrise Service, we will gather at the Church for an All-Church Easter Breakfast from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. at the Church.  There’s no cost, and guests are welcome.

Sunday School will be at the regular time of 9:40 a.m.

Our Easter Celebration service begins at 10:50 a.m.  Come and join in as we celebrate Jesus!  Communion will be served during the service.  Everyone is welcome.

See you there!
