God is at work and the Spirit is here!

Hello All,

I wanted to write to tell you that I have been praying for each of you and for our Church’s current prayer needs.  As you know, Renee and I are attending the Louisiana District Family Camp in Pineville, LA.  The campgrounds is named Rocky Creek Camp.  To get here from Vicksburg takes about 2 ½ hours and is freeway all the way.  You just go to Monroe, and then turn south on Highway 165 to Pineville which takes about 70 minutes.  The campgrounds is beautiful and there are plenty of inexpensive hotels and many different restaurants close by.  You can eat at the camp for about $15 a day for three meals. There might even be a room available at the camp.

The preachers this week are Dr. Nelson Perdue and Rev. Mike Adams.  They have both been a great blessing since the first service.  I can’t say enough about the messages.  God has spoken to me during every service.  The music is being provided for Don & Shirl Gessner and they do a wonderful job.

I know that we all have a million reasons why we can’t come to camp – but I wanted to write to you and encourage you to put aside the things you can, and come and spend  some special time with God and your fellow Nazarenes in LA.  The tabernacle is air-conditioned and has wonderful soft seating.  There is a swimming pool also.  So pray about it.  Ask God to show you what you could set aside and then jump in the car and come over and spend a night here.

The schedule for Thursday & Friday is:

• Breakfast at 7:00 am
• Prayer and Study at 9:00 am
• Morning worship at 10:30 am
• Lunch at noon
• Dinner at 5:00 pm
• Evening service at 7:00 pm

Nursery available,  children’s church with puppets and teen activities.

Saturdays service schedule is a bit different.

Now, some of you have cars that would fit 5 people in and others would need a ride.  It would be absolutely wonderful if you could work together to get down here to camp.  You could  drive over in the morning and be here in time for the 10:30 service, eat lunch, relax and swim, eat dinner and then enjoy the evening service and the fellowship afterword.  Then you could stay at a hotel, come back for breakfast the next morning, stay for the service, eat lunch and then head home.  It wouldn’t really cost that much and it would be a promised blessing to your heart and soul!

Please pray about it!  Ask God what He wants.  Then talk to some other members of the Church Family and bless them by driving together.  This is a once a year opportunity for all of us.  The preaching by these two tenured evangelists is just awesome.  The people here are so friendly!

Please think about it!  Pool your resources together – someone has a car, someone can pay for the gas, someone can get a discount at a hotel.  God will work it out for you!

You will be GLAD you did.  I can’t wait to see some of you tomorrow or Friday.
